I am A 34 year veteran guitarist. With the exception of a few, it looks like we share the same musical likes (early van Halen, Zepplin, Jane’s addiction I’m guessing). Your review though, stopped me in my tracks. Well written, extremely informative (you answered pretty much any question I would’ve had). I read reviews and blogs all the time about guitar stuff, because I’m a total geek, ha! Reviews like yours are rare indeed!
That what I wanted to say. i’m going to read more of your reviews. Seems like you’re not doing as much these days, but you’re a great writer. I share your love of philosophical debate. That certainly is something that is hard to find. I’ve been teaching mathematics for 20 years, half of that at the college level. I am now teaching high school. Thus was the reason I was looking at the wah. We teachers are always broke. Being an electric guitarist, I have to do everything I can on the cheap. Buying used, trading in, good Chinese clones, finding the occasional great deal, those find their way on my board. I just got a Wampler Tumnus for $80. Very nice pedal! I am using it a differently than most. I have the gain maxed, and it is damn beautiful! Back in my day, it was Boss, MXR, DOD. As a older player I am really enjoying the innovation, and Experimentation going on today. Things are changing…
